Zosia and I have torn up the house getting ready for our first Friendship Force trip - to Austria. Now we are well traveled and have spent time in friends houses around the world, so the concept is not new to us, but we have never hosted a couple from Friendship Force in our house so we are not sure how this all falls together. We have been in contact with our Host - Annemarie, and she is really nice and communicates well making us feel comfortable that we are welcomed.
But what to bring - it is so hard to cut down on such essentials (one computer or two, CD player or just MP3 players, how many sets of shoes, video camera, GPS's). Oh the choices are endless, but we know the lighter one travels, the better off one is. Clothes are always an open issues, but of course it shouldn't be - hey, we're going to Europe - they all dress in black, don't they? It was hard enough to dress conservatively here in Texas after coming from Florida, so Europe always throws me.
Of course, it is not just Austria, but also an extra week in Poland after the 10 days in Austria. We have Krakow hotels all down so at least we know where we will stay there. Joseph - Sunday, August 29
